Michael Piscitelli focuses his practice on patent procurement within the electrical, computer, and electro-mechanical fields, with an emphasis on a wide range of technologies such as wireless telecommunications, data processing, medical devices, and electrical systems. By monitoring the pulse of a client’s business and researching competitor activities, Michael is able to help his clients create competitive advantages through the use of intellectual property. “The patent procurement process begins with the creation of a solution to a particular problem,” says Michael. “It is my job to work with the inventors to broaden this solution into a working definition of a patentable invention.”
While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Michael gained valuable engineering experience in both the electrical utility and the semiconductor industries. During his time at a large electrical utility company, Michael was responsible for performing circuit analysis on the distribution and transmission systems. At a major semiconductor company, Michael supported the creation of large scale printed circuit boards for use in the testing of semiconductor devices. This practical engineering experience allows Michael to be even more cognizant of his clients’ needs.
As an attorney, Michael’s responsibilities range across the entire patent procurement process from invention disclosure to patent issuance for both domestic and foreign applications. Michael enjoys applying his legal and scientific knowledge to assist clients in pursuing business ventures by procuring and protecting their intellectual property rights.
